Hi Zernio team,
We use your API for multi-platform publishing (profile 6a6287b4e277c69bead36dec) and the per-platform unpublish endpoint works well for us on Facebook and Google Business.
Request: please add Instagram support to POST /v1/posts/{postId}/unpublish.
Currently the endpoint returns:
400 {“error”:“Instagram does not support post deletion via API. Please delete the post manually from Instagram.”,“type”:“invalid_request_error”,“code”:“invalid_field_value”,“param”:“platform”}
However, Meta’s Instagram Graph API DOES support deleting published IG media (feed posts, reels, and entire carousel albums) via a DELETE request on the media object. It requires the instagram_manage_contents permission, which is granted through Meta App Review:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/instagram-platform/reference/instagram-media/
So this appears to be a permission/wiring gap rather than a platform limitation. Since you already hold the account connection and tokens, adding instagram_manage_contents to your Meta app and wiring the DELETE call would let unpublish work for Instagram the same way it does for Facebook.
Our use case: our SaaS lets business clients publish to FB/GBP/IG through your API, with in-app takedown of published posts. Today Instagram is the only connected platform where removal requires leaving our product, which is a real workflow gap for our clients.
Could you let us know if this is on your roadmap, and roughly when it might land?
Thanks,
Jay Lepore
