Correction to our comment above, which was out of date on one point. Instagram does now have a like API: Meta shipped the Like Media and Comments API on 22 April 2026, with POST and DELETE /<IG_USER_ID>/likes taking either media_id or comment_id, behind the new instagram_manage_engagement permission. It covers feed posts, reels, comments and replies. Stories and content from private accounts are excluded.

So liking on Instagram is no longer a platform limit, and the 400 our endpoint currently returns for Instagram is wrong. We are tracking that on the separate "LIKE A COMMENT IN IG" request, which stays open. Threads, TikTok and Pinterest still publish no like endpoint, so that part of the earlier comment stands. Sorry for the incorrect information.

This works today. Post-level like and unlike shipped on 9 August via POST / DELETE /v1/inbox/posts/{postId}/like, and any connected account can like a post, not just the one that published it (LinkedIn, X, Facebook, YouTube, Bluesky).

On the comment side there is POST /v1/inbox/comments/{postId} to reply, POST /v1/inbox/comments/{postId}/{commentId}/like (LinkedIn also takes a reactionType for PRAISE, EMPATHY and the rest), plus edit, delete and hide. Repost, save and follow on X are /v1/twitter/retweet, /v1/twitter/bookmark and /v1/twitter/follow, and Reddit up/downvotes go through POST /v1/accounts/{accountId}/reddit-vote.

Instagram, Threads, TikTok and Pinterest publish no like or save endpoint in their APIs at all, so those calls return a 400 explaining that, and it is a platform limit rather than something we can add.

Just imagine mass liking a post for it to go viral on LinkedIn…or any other platform.
