LinkedIn: publish new posts directly to groups joined by the connected profile
We use Zernio for social publishing in Well Automated, a platform for marketing and creative agencies. Please add API support for creating a new post directly inside a LinkedIn Group that the authenticated personal profile has already joined and is permitted to post in.
This is a group destination request, not reposting an existing group post through reshareUrl. Today POST /v1/posts targets a personal profile or an organization page, with no group destination field, as confirmed by your support team.
Desired workflow:
List groups available to the connected profile, including posting permissions where available.
Explicitly choose profile feed, organization page or a specific group as the publishing destination.
Create or schedule a group post with text and supported media, especially video.
Return the group post URL and an accurate status, including pending admin approval or rejection when available.
Please document required permissions, eligibility and LinkedIn limitations. Group rules, membership requirements, moderation and posting limits should remain enforced. Automatic joining and bypassing moderation are outside this request.
This would let agencies prepare and approve relevant content in one workflow, then publish it to professional communities beyond their existing profile audience. If LinkedIn does not currently permit this through its official API, please clarify that dependency and track support for when it becomes available.
