multiple DM messages & comment replies (random rotation) in Comment-to-DM
Hi Zernio team,
I'm using the Comment-to-DM automation via the API (createCommentAutomation), and it works great. One request:
Right now dmMessage and commentReply each accept only a single string, so every comment on a post gets the exact same DM and the exact same public reply. This looks repetitive and may increase spam-detection risk on Instagram.
Could you support multiple messages with random rotation?
Allow dmMessage and commentReply to accept an array of strings (e.g. 3–5 variations).
For each triggered comment, the system picks one at random. This would let each commenter receive a slightly different DM/reply, making the automation feel natural and reducing the chance of being flagged. Many similar tools already do this, so it would be a big help.
Thank you!

Good news, this is now supported!
When creating or updating a comment-to-DM automation, pass
dmMessageVariations(and/orcommentReplyVariations) as an array of alternate texts, up to 5 each. For every triggered comment we pick one at random from your main message plus its variations, with the DM and the public reply chosen independently, so repeat commenters get a different message instead of the identical one each time. You can also set it up in the dashboard: open the automation editor and use “Add message variation”.Reference: docs.zernio.com/comment-automations/create-comment-automation. Thanks for the detailed request!
