Docs: what is preserved on keyword replacement writes (match types, bids, labels)?

If full-set replacement stays the only route for keyword edits, integrators need to know exactly what happens to criteria that are re-sent unchanged. Are they matched and left alone, or removed and recreated? Specifically:
keyword-level bid overrides, match type when the entry is sent as a bare string versus { text, matchType }, labels, and the criterion's own history (quality score, statistics).

Recreating a keyword resets its history in Google Ads, which would quietly damage an account that our tool "helped". A short paragraph in the update-ad reference would settle it.

Also worth correcting while you're there: the guide page for high-demand periods reads as read-only, while the API reference documents POST createHighDemandPeriod. Your team confirmed the reference is current — the guide had us plan
around a limitation that doesn't exist.

The update-ad reference now explains what keyword replacement preserves: the same case-insensitive text, match type and positive/negative kind keeps the existing criterion ID, status, bid overrides, labels and history. Google continues updating quality scores and statistics normally.

Bare strings and objects without matchType mean BROAD. Resending an EXACT keyword as a bare string can remove it and create a BROAD criterion without transferring its attributes or history. Omitted lists stay unchanged, empty lists clear that kind, and positive/negative keywords are handled separately. The reference includes the example and links the additive keyword endpoint: https://docs.zernio.com/ad-campaigns/update-ad

The high-demand periods guide also documents POST creation: https://docs.zernio.com/platforms/meta-ads/operational-reads

Both documentation corrections are now live and verified.
