Do not show temporary charges for free accounts

The billing page is currently confusing when using the usage-based plan with two free social accounts.

My dashboard showed a $0.39 charge under “Accounts” and a corresponding “Other -$0.39” credit. This made it look like my free accounts were consuming promotional credits and that I might eventually be charged once those credits reached $0.

Support clarified that the first two accounts are free regardless of the credit balance, and that the $0.39 deduction was only a temporary proration adjustment.

My main suggestion would be to avoid showing this charge to the user at all. If the account is free and the final cost is always $0.00, the internal charge and credit adjustment should happen transparently in the background.

Ideally, the billing page should simply show:

  • First two accounts: Free — $0.00

  • Promotional credit balance shown separately

  • A clear explanation of what those credits can actually be used for

Users should not need to understand internal billing adjustments for something that is advertised as free. Hiding these temporary charges would make the billing experience much simpler and prevent unnecessary concern.
