Autoreply DM on socials

An autoresponder for direct messages (DMs) across multiple social platforms isn’t just a nice-to-have—it’s a game-changing feature that elevates the entire platform. This capability allows users to instantly and consistently engage with their audience, no matter where the message comes from. It addresses a major pain point for brands and creators: staying responsive and professional at all hours, across several channels, without being physically present.

By integrating robust DM autoresponders, the platform doesn’t just matc, it surpasses, tools that focus solely on messaging. Instead of forcing users to juggle multiple niche solutions, they get an all-in-one hub that saves time, improves customer satisfaction, and ensures no opportunity is missed. This powerful functionality significantly broadens the platform’s appeal, attracting not only content schedulers but also anyone serious about customer support, lead generation, or community management.

In short, multi-platform DM autoresponders transform the platform from a simple automation tool into a comprehensive engagement engine. This is a must-have for anyone who wants to compete at a higher level, streamline their workflow, and deliver a seamless experience to followers and customers wherever they are.

Good news, this is supported through Workflows!

Under Inbox → Workflows you can build an automation that triggers on an inbound message (by keyword or first message) and auto-replies with a DM, including branching, waiting for a reply, and handing off. It runs across the two-way messaging channels: WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook/Messenger, Telegram, X, Bluesky and Reddit.

One honest note on scope: this covers platforms with two-way inbox messaging, so it doesn't apply to TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest or Google Business (those have no DM channel to reply on).

Details here: docs.zernio.com/workflows/create-workflow. Thanks for the request!

    Feature request

multiple DM messages & comment replies (random rotation) in Comment-to-DM

    Hi Zernio team,

I'm using the Comment-to-DM automation via the API (createCommentAutomation), and it works great. One request:

Right now dmMessage and commentReply each accept only a single string, so every comment on a post gets the exact same DM and the exact same public reply. This looks repetitive and may increase spam-detection risk on Instagram.

Could you support multiple messages with random rotation?

Allow dmMessage and commentReply to accept an array of strings (e.g. 3–5 variations).

For each triggered comment, the system picks one at random. This would let each commenter receive a slightly different DM/reply, making the automation feel natural and reducing the chance of being flagged. Many similar tools already do this, so it would be a big help.

    Thank you!

When you have game-changer, must have and all-in-one in a feature request, you know you are talking about completely unrelated request to the core app…

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I want Late to focus solely on posting. I’ve seen many social media management apps try to do everything but end up good at nothing.
I already have social media inbox apps, and I prefer Late to excel at cross-posting, covering all the options and features needed to fine-tune posts for each platform.

Agreed. There are still plenty of posting features that Late doesn’t yet support. Those should be the priority.

Your 100% spot on. In this case, it's useless to start building some autoresponder since there are many great solutions (like manychat) out there what people could use if they just bothered to look.

Solid upload and posting infrastructure is what we need, not bells and whistles.

I’d love to replace Manychat with this.

This is a killer feature, and necessary for SMM. It’s why people pay high Manychat fees.
